Dear Ms. Livermore:
My teacher, Mr. Connors, told me that you were looking for an electrician’s apprentice at your firm, Livermore Construction. I have just finished an intensive 16-week training program covering all the parts of the electrician’s trade and also passed the test for the completed the Electrical Workers Union Apprentice Certificate. I’m very interested in working for an innovative company that supports young people by partnering with the Smokey Mountain Job Corps Center.
I noticed in your advertisements that you are including CAT 5 wiring in all the houses you build. During the last five weeks of my training I helped install CAT 5 wiring in a local school. My teachers have said that I learn new techniques quickly and that I am very responsible and reliable. Once I begin working, I plan on continuing my education at the Jacksonville Community College studying communications infrastructure. As an innovative company, I know you are looking for employees who learn quickly, work independently, and constantly improve their skills.
I will be attending a vocational competition in Jacksonville with my teacher Mr. Connors from April 15 to April 19. If it is convenient I would like to visit Livermore Construction and talk with you about the possibility of employment. I will call you next week to schedule a time. My resume is enclosed. If you have any questions regarding my qualifications or my schedule, please call me.
With confidence,
Pete Kramer
