Mini Self Reflexology Session

This session is a little bit of reflexology on the big toe and a lot of feel-good massage. Its very nice to work with a partner. Have your partner read the instructions to you while you do self-reflexology, then switch!

All the energy lines in the feet are also in the big toe--so when you only have a little bit of time to work, you can still do some reflexology.

If you enjoy this, you may want to learn more about reflexology techniques and practice.

  • Begin your session with clean hands and feet
  • Sit in a comfortable chair and briskly rub your hands together
  • Bring one foot up to your lap
  • Make a hand and foot sandwich: place one hand on the top of your foot and the other hand on the bottom of your foot
  • Hold your foot while you take three long slow deep breaths. Breath so deeply, your stomach moves in and out.
  • Close your eyes and feel your hands on your foot
  • As slowly as you can, begin to move your hands down your foot, slowly moving your palms and fingertips towards your ankle and heel. The movement can be so slow, someone else might not notice it.
  • When you reach your ankle, moving a little faster, lightly circle your fingertips around the bone
  • Using your the palms of your hand, briskly rub both sides of your heel
  • As slowly as you can, move your hands back to top and bottom of your foot and softly slide your hands up the foot until your fingers reach your toes
  • Leave one hand on your foot, and with your other hand, take each toe and turn it in circles, in both directions
  • Using your thumb, start at the bottom of your great toe and inch up to the top. The motion your thumb makes is like an inchworm, bending at the joint. Do both sides, bottom, and top of the toe; always start from the base of the toe and work towards the top.
  • Holding your foot with one hand, use the knuckles of your other hand to rub the bottom of the foot in circular motion
  • To finish, make another foot sandwich
  • Repeat the process on your other foot
